Summer Yoga & Fitness Retreat

At Oru El Saltador with Uwa

Movement as medicine. Rest as ritual. Join wellbeing and movement practitioner Uwarobosa Enobakhare for a five-night retreat exploring movement as medicine - a practice of returning to the body as a place of balance, vitality, and connection. This homecoming is an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply and reconnect with what heals and moves you - from the inside out. Each day combines two guided sessions blending holistic fitness, mindful movement and embodied yoga, designed to meet you where you are.

This 5-day retreat will allow you equal parts fun and energising experiences and equal parts rest and relaxation, whilst being nourished with plentiful delicious organic food, sleeping deeply to the sounds of cicadas and nature, and breathing the wonderful mountain air of the Sierra Alhamilla. Oru retreats focus deeply on community and nature, so you can expect to leave feeling restored and with a bunch of new (often local) friends! We believe that fitness doesn’t need to be stressful, cortisol-inducing or a punishment. Instead, it can be nourishing, mindful and intentional, allowing us to tune into our inner world and how we feel whilst we move.

We also believe that inner and outer strength is an amazing practice, one that helps us feel more alive, more centred and ready for anything! Each day on retreat will begin with either a mindful fitness workout or energising yoga practice, and will finish with a restorative yoga and meditation practice to wind down and relax.

Weavovened throughout the days will be journaling practices, group walks in nature, a trip to the stunning Cabo De Gata beaches and to see dolphins, a desert trip with dinner and more. This retreat is open to anyone, but we recommend that you have a semi-regular movement practice (whether that’s attending yoga and strength classes or working out at home).

Off-grid Living

Off-grid Living

Nestled in the heart of the Andalusian desert, our retreat centre is completely off-grid - and we think that's something worth celebrating.

We run entirely on solar energy, we have our own water supply, and we reduce our footprint wherever possible. There are no mains connections here, no hum of the national grid, no endless supply of resources on tap. What there is, is something rarer: a genuine invitation to slow down, consume less, and reconnect with the natural rhythms of the land.

What this means in practice

The desert is a place of abundance and scarcity in equal measure. The sun gives us everything we need to power our days, but we ask guests to be mindful of how they use that energy, turning off lights when leaving a room, avoiding charging devices overnight, and embracing the quiet that comes when screens are set aside.

Water here is precious. We ask everyone to take shorter showers, turn off taps fully, and treat every drop with the same respect the land itself demands. During drier periods, supplies can run low, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation when they do. Many guests tell us that the off-grid nature of the retreat becomes one of the most meaningful parts of their stay. There is something quietly powerful about living within limits, about noticing how little you actually need, and how much more present you become when the usual conveniences fall away.

This is a place to unplug in every sense of the word. To remember what it feels like to live lightly.
