New Year Yoga & Breathwork Retreat
Join Miri, Mel and the Oru team for a revitalising New Year retreat! This 5-day retreat is designed to help you land softly and intentionally into 2027. Each day will be a blend of energising, nourishing yoga practices, powerful and releasing breathwork practices, meditation, journaling, delicious organic food, walks in nature, and plenty of quiet time to reflect and rest. We’ll also plan a trip to the beach with a beautiful coastal walk, a hike in the incredible hills, and a New Year’s intention-setting ceremony and sound bath.
Yoga practices will include dynamic vinyasa, embodied flow, yin, yoga nidra and meditation. Breathwork practices will include conscious connected breathwork and SOMA breathwork. These practices complement one another perfectly to allow for a holistic sense of wellbeing and transformation! If you’re looking to take care of yourself and start the year mindfully, then this is the retreat for you. Andalusia is known for it’s pleasant winter temperatures, so expect t-shirt weather in the day (with maybe even a dip in the sea!) and cosying up in the evening by the fire.

Off-grid Living
Off-grid Living
Nestled in the heart of the Andalusian desert, our retreat centre is completely off-grid - and we think that's something worth celebrating.
We run entirely on solar energy, we have our own water supply, and we reduce our footprint wherever possible. There are no mains connections here, no hum of the national grid, no endless supply of resources on tap. What there is, is something rarer: a genuine invitation to slow down, consume less, and reconnect with the natural rhythms of the land.
What this means in practice
The desert is a place of abundance and scarcity in equal measure. The sun gives us everything we need to power our days, but we ask guests to be mindful of how they use that energy, turning off lights when leaving a room, avoiding charging devices overnight, and embracing the quiet that comes when screens are set aside.
Water here is precious. We ask everyone to take shorter showers, turn off taps fully, and treat every drop with the same respect the land itself demands. During drier periods, supplies can run low, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation when they do. Many guests tell us that the off-grid nature of the retreat becomes one of the most meaningful parts of their stay. There is something quietly powerful about living within limits, about noticing how little you actually need, and how much more present you become when the usual conveniences fall away.
This is a place to unplug in every sense of the word. To remember what it feels like to live lightly.

For Miriam, yoga is so much more than a movement practice. It is a transformative life practice that helps you form a deeper sense of connection with your body, your mind, your consciousness and your energy, and in turn with the world around you. Miriam’s intention is to teach this practice in a warm, inclusive and curious way, that empowers you to tune into your inner world and feel what’s best for you - moment to moment. In Miriam’s classes you can expect to be challenged, encouraged and guided through thoughtful, contemplative sequences that weave together asana, philosophy, breathwork and embodiment. She is endlessly curious about anatomy, the power of sound and frequency, the nervous system and neuroscience, quantum physics and energy, and the ability that movement and mindfulness has to shift our state. You will find all of these influences present in her teaching, as well as light hearted reminders to enjoy the experience!

With over two decades dedicated to the study and practice of holistic wellbeing, Melanie passionately believes in the power of slowing down and attuning to our bodies. As a holistic shamanic practitioner, she brings an additional layer of depth to her work. She combines ancient wisdom and modern techniques, including breathwork, embodied movement, tapping, coaching, kinesiology, and somatic trauma therapy. Whilst navigating challenges like PTSD, anxiety, depression, and a total disconnect from her body she realised how deeply her past had affected her and how important it was to release past traumas, balance her nervous system and deeply connect with her body and her intuition so that she could live a life that she loves and is passionate about. Beyond her professional pursuits, her deepest loves include her son, dancing, breathwork, working with fire, trauma healing, and a profound connection with nature.
