Letter to the garden
Hi, I am Greta.
I am the new community gardener and I hope you don’t mind me helping and supporting you while you give life and energy to this polluted and messy world.
I think it is good to introduce myself and reveal to you why I think we will be friends and collaborators.
Today spring starts and since I came here I’ve already seen you changing and becoming more colourful. You had many visitors, I spotted bees and ladybugs coming to say hi and birds are singing all day long.
You are in the middle of big buildings and lots of humans that still might not know about your existence.
If you’d like, I’d love to be here with other new hands and learn how you behave and how you change.
We are locals, we want to share this space together, getting a bit dirty. We believe that you can make us and the place we live in, better and greener. There should be more of you.
I want to celebrate you on this magical day, and wish you to gather all the health and energies we need for the new growing season - the busiest one for you, your soil and plants, after a long and cold winter sleep.
I hope to always respect your timings and what you have to offer us, I am grateful to be so close to you.
I plant this seed to remember this time and to celebrate this beginning together, and our next projects. My wish for planting as a grower: I ask nature to resist and thrive, to have many warms in your soil, to feed us, to give us energy and I wish you a fertile season.
Thank you for keeping me so grounded and connected to nature, to the community and food, to keep me aware of the problems we face and the solutions we need to create. I will try to share this power with as many people as possible, always learning from each other.
