Cycling & Yoga Retreat at Oru El Saltador
Cycling led by Chris & Alex, Yoga led by Stevie Jamieson
Oru El Saltador invites you to its first yoga and cycling retreat - four days and five nights of sunshine, mountain passes, and stillness in the heart of Southern Spain. Set in the mountains and valleys within which Oru El Saltador is nestled, this is a retreat designed to nourish you, whether on the bike taking in the stunning scenery, on the mat awaking the body and winding down, and just relaxing in nature.
Hosted by Alex, Stevie, and Chris, each day is crafted to balance effort with ease, and adventure with rest. Mornings begin gently, with Stevie guiding you through a yoga session to open the body and set the tone for the day, followed by a nourishing filling spread to fuel you for the day.
From there, Alex and Chris take the lead on the road, rolling out through some of the most beautiful scenery Andalucía has to offer - quiet mountain roads, sweeping valleys, and sun-warmed villages. With rides of different lengths on offer each day, you can choose your own pace: push yourself on the longer route, or spin easily on the shorter one. Somewhere along the way, we'll pause for a relaxed lunch stop - the kind of long, unhurried meal needed to refuel the legs.
Back at Oru El Saltador, stretch out in the grounds, find a shaded corner with a book, or join Stevie for an afternoon yoga session to unwind the legs and settle the mind. Evenings draw to a close around the table, with a healthy, nourishing dinner shared together.
This is a retreat for anyone who loves to ride, loves to breathe deeply, and loves the feeling of earning their rest. A few days to mix movement with stillness, good company with quiet moments.

Alex is a passionate cyclist having first taken it up competitively in his teens, racing for Lambeth in the London Youth Games and at the famous Herne Hill Velodrome. Alex can still be seen riding and racing at the Velodrome. He is also a trustee for the Herne Hill Velodrome Trust, the charity that runs the iconic venue today.
When not cycling Alex is usually found rebalancing and resetting in one of Oru’s many yoga classes, having been a Oru member since day 1. In addition to spending as much time as he can outdoors cycling, Alex works with individuals supporting them cultivate a deeper relationship with the natural world as a way of building resilience, agency and supporting them bring their most authentic selves into their work.
Alex and Chris have been riding together for years having first met over 20 years and then again at a yoga class at Oru.

Stevie began practicing yoga in a Sivananda ashram in 2001 and graduated as a Power Yoga teacher in 2014. Now a Senior Yoga Teacher with the YOGA PROS, Stevie teaches a vinyasa style of yoga derived from the ancient Astanga tradition which co-ordinates dynamic movement with the breath. Group classes are often heated (28-32C) to allow students to get deeper into the poses whilst reducing the risk of injury. Each asana practice is a full body workout so be prepared to sweat, but equally students are invited to rest as often as required. Stevie is also a qualified Meditation & Mindfulness Teacher.
