Perhaps you trained a while ago but haven't felt confident enough to get out there, or feel hesitant to use your voice and step into your potential? Then join Stevie and the Oru team for a 28 hour CPD course to elevate your teaching skills! Over the course of 3 Saturdays, as well as live online learning and mentorship, you'll be taken on a deeper dive into the art of teaching.
Modules will include:
Embedding philosophy deeper. Putting yamasa and niyamas into action, and understanding the context of cultural appropriation
Finding your unique voice and enhancing vocal projection
The power of language, clarity, presence, pace and tone
Creative sequencing, structure and modifying a class
How to teach hot yoga classes
This CPD will also include 3 hours of mentorship with one of our incredible Oru teachers. Mentorship will allow you to share learnings, continue growth and development, receive useful feedback, put together goals and visions for the future, and get the support you need to feel confident teaching what aligns with you!
You will also get the chance to teach 4 community classes at Oru Space Dulwich, to help integrate your learnings into a real-life setting, build local community and gain experience teaching in a studio environment. Shruti is a London based yoga teacher, born in India, who began practising yoga with her mum when she was 9 years old. She completed her Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga teacher training at Sampoorna in Goa, India while she was working full-time in the city. Describing herself often during her previous career in legal recruitment as “highly meditated”, yoga is Shruti’s spiritual practice, which has allowed her to find balance and harmony in her life as a whole. She also uses yoga as a form of physical therapy after three knee operations and is inspired to help others find their version of a regular yoga practice to support with rehabilitation. In her yin and restorative classes, Shruti creates a calm space and brings her experience in Indian Head and holistic massage therapy to offer an intuitive and nurturing touch to help you relax. Her flow classes help you gently build strength and balance, with chilled playlists to motivate and restore. When not at the studio or in a treatment room, Shruti runs wellbeing platform Yoga Mapp and works on retreats to help people immerse themselves completely in the art of deep rest and relaxation.
