Yoga & Creative Writing Retreat with Ana

Join Ana and Oru for a 5 day Yoga for Writers retreat! This retreat is for absolutely anyone - perhaps you have felt the call to write, or to lean into more creative expression? Perhaps you journal or write regularly, and are looking to deepen your practice and skills? This retreat weaves together the grounding practice of yoga with the creative freedom of writing - inviting you to pause, listen in, and explore what’s waiting to be expressed. Discover how the yoga practice can help you listen in, find your voice and get your story on the page.

Whether you’ve always wanted to write but don’t know where to begin, or you’re an experienced writer seeking fresh inspiration, this retreat offers space to reconnect with your voice and your body. Through a range of yoga practices, mindful movement, guided writing sessions and exercises, and quiet reflection, you’ll discover how the two practices can support one another,  creating a sense of flow, focus, and ease.

You don’t need to be a seasoned yogi or a professional writer. All that’s required is curiosity, openness, and a willingness to show up for yourself and your creative process.

Throughout the week, you’ll be supported by nurturing guidance, group workshops, and one-to-one time to help you deepen your practice on and off the mat, on and off the page.

If you’d like feedback on a specific piece of writing, you’re welcome to send it in at least two weeks before the retreat. This will allow for a thoughtful, personal discussion during your one-to-one feedback session

Leave feeling replenished, inspired, and ready to keep writing your story, both literally and metaphorically.

This retreat is open to anyone, but we recommend that you have a semi-regular yoga practice for a minimum of 6 months.

Retreat Schedule Example

Finding your voice and playing with perspectives

8 – 10am: Morning Writing Prompt (10min free writing) 60min dynamic vinyasa flow into a short visualisation / meditation. Yoga nidra into deeper writing prompts

10am: Brunch

11am: Free time to write and / or explore the local area with a wild nature walk

2pm: Lunch

3pm: Free time for treatments

5pm: 30min gentle flow & writing workshop on craft: a look at writing from different perspectives. Structured writing exercises with time to share.

7pm: Dinner

9pm: Optional: A reading from the teacher: sharing work and a chance to ask any questions.

Accommodation will be simple and comfortable. Choose from limited solo occupancy rooms, or a twin/dorm room. All rooms have shared bathrooms and showers.
